Self Help not Sympathy. MEND Trust ( Mobility Equipment for Needs
of Disabled ) is based in Keri Keri, New Zealand.
Run by Rob Buchanan, a resident of New Zealand and a citizen of
Australia and US, MEND is a charitable Trust, set up to help people with
disabilities to become more independent.
Currently MEND is in the process of developing a low cost solution
for Limb amputees that stand up to the demands in mainly low income
countries in Asia and Africa. Prototypes are currently being tested in
Nepal and India. Current manufacturing costs are around US$ 4 for a limb.
Please visit their website and help Rob in anyway possible so that
